Education and Employment

This is what opportunity looks like. Opportunity should be within reach for everyone, but too many people across the Maritimes face barriers to education, employment, and financial stability.

What We're Doing

We’re creating pathways to stability and success. That looks like:

Supporting

education, tutoring, and lifelong learning.

Providing

skills, training, and employment readiness programs.

Expanding

access to career development and mentorship.

Strengthening

financial literacy and resilience.

Our Impact in Action

Funding the Saint John Learning Exchange’s BEST (Basic Education & Skills Training) Program

Providing adults with practical skills - from financial literacy to digital training - alongside wrap-around supports that help them move into meaningful jobs, complete education, and find long-term stability.

"They often have a desire to finish their GED or adult high school graduation, and we can certainly help them achieve this, but it’s so much than that. The program helps learners develop personalized goals that can help in so many different areas of their lives."

“I am thrilled to be able to say, from the United Way-funded program I gained employment, and it changed my life. I was fortunate to meet the right people who also believed in me and my abilities, rather than focus on my disabilities.”
